Spaces that Come and Go

A body of work that is totally representative of my genre, inspired by the annual transformation of the environment in which the Byron Bay Writer’s Festival is held.

My fascination with geometrical shapes in the landscape takes on a more literal view with the shapes of tents/marquees taking up space, making spaces and shapes and then disappearing after the event. The whole question of presence and absence is made very visual in these strong controlled works.

They raise our awareness of place in the context of time and could even touch on the future of this particular environment due to redeveloped.
